Am I Eligible For Newcomer Banking Packages?
International Students

International Students

  • New to Canada within the last 5 years
  • Be an Ontario resident(s)
  • Social Insurance Number (SIN) starting with '9'
  • Proof of enrolment in program of authorized study
  • Meet qualification criteria (varies depending on application)

What documents do I need to open an account?

When you visit one of our branches, please bring the following documents* with you:

  • Your study permit from the Government of Canada (IMM Form 1442)
  • Proof of enrolment in program of authorized study

 

GFCU also requires One from the below list: 

  • A valid international passport
  • Canadian driver's license
  • Canadian Government ID Card

*Other documents may be acceptable or required. Please contact your nearest branch for more details.

 

Permanent Resident

Permanent Residents

  • New to Canada within the last 5 years
  • Be an Ontario resident(s)
  • Social Insurance Number (SIN) starting with '6'
  • Permanent Resident card or Form IMM 5009
  • Meet qualification criteria (varies depending on application)
